Kingspan | Rotman Design Challenge

2020

With the student association I was part of (Studio360), I had the opportunity to participate at the Rotman Design Challenge (RDC), which is a design competition hosted in Toronto by the Rotman Business Design Club. The RDC 2019 edition had 195 master level students from 31 schools participating for top prizes from North American and European universities. Our Team, from the TUDelft was the only representing The Netherlands.

Shaping the future of construction.
Challenge
Within the next 5-10 years, how can Kingspan the global leader in high performance insulation and building envelope solutions, and a company committed to sustainability, disrupt its own business model to be the leader in the future of digital construction?
Concept
In 2030, Kingspan Digital will bring an entire system of sensors (consisting of temperature, pressure, humidity, GPS, structure, light sensors) that are connected and collect a diversity of data to be interpreted for Kingspan to offer digital services for better building performance.
